One thing that I noticed among small business owners is that they often overlook a strategy if it is free. Article marketing is one of them. This article explains how you should not fall into the same trap and how to start using it for the benefit of your own business.

With the sheer amount of free information that is available out there, who has time to scour the data? Free information is good to have, but little to no one cares about it as much as information that they purchase with their own hard-earned money.

When buying an e-book, you’re more likely to read it than if you find the same content on a free website. That’s just how it works.

Along the same line, people don’t take it to the heart when they read about a free marketing strategy idea. If I charge you a small fee, say $5, to read this article, I’m sure you will be more likely to read it more seriously and take action on what I have to say.

This is just a fact of life any of us have to live with. I know we are all busy. There are only so many hours in a day. However, it is important that you open your eyes and be sensitive about which real opportunities that come to you.

If you let it go, you may still success with your business, but you may not have such a strong leverage point for your content as a publicity, lead generation and monetization tool.

You may have another on-going marketing strategy, but if you already own a lot of content, you can easily repurpose the existing content into small-chunk of articles and gain more publicity.

Once you decide to test one marketing idea, do it for a few months to test how it works for your business before you give up. A strategy like article marketing is a long term strategy but it works.

Just like referral marketing and word out mouth, they are free but still very effective in bringing you more traffic and business.
