E-fax Or Fax?
Posted on December 23, 2007 - Filed Under Communications
There are several advantages to using an e-fax service and really only one small disadvantage I can think of.
Advantages
- Receive or send faxes wherever you have web access.
- Easily file faxes on your own computer & forward easily via e-mail.
- Save clients & potential customers long-distance charges by acquiring a toll-free number for them to fax to if applicable.
- Save on long-distance charges if applicable.
- E-fax services cost less than fax lines.
- No fax machine maintenance, toner, etc.
- No busy signal for incoming faxes.
- Travelers do not need to communicate with office regarding faxes.
Disadvantage
- Outbound faxes need to be in an electronic format; not a hard copy.
Say goodbye to the disadvantage. Buy a scanner. Not only will you have a scanner for faxing but scanners are great for several other reasons including copying (just scan to your computer & print), saving photos on your computer, saving receipts electronically & e-mailing hard copy to people without fax machines to name a few. Scanners are inexpensive and require no maintenance. It is possible to buy a basic color scanner for less than $50.00. If you are typically faxing the same forms just save them on your computer and you will not need to scan them each time.
The advantages are numerous & inexpensive. There are e-fax services with a toll-free number starting at $7.95 per month. This is much cheaper than a phone line from you local carrier and there are no long distance charges associated. Just do a search for e-fax in your favorite Internet search engine to get started. Happy communications!
